Iverson Returns To Sixers
After retiring for about a week, Allen Iverson has resigned with the Philadephia 76ers. I can say this is a great move for everyone. The Sixers are only 5-13 to start the season, even though that isn’t bad in the east unfortunately. Iverson will not just provide help to a team that can use the scoring and someone that can handle the ball, it also should increase ticket sales as well. Philly loves Iverson, there is no question about it. He brought the team back to the top of the NBA and even to a finals in 2001, also winning the NBA MVP that year. Its great to see a team reunite with a player who will most likely get their jersey retired and also should go into the hall of fame with that team. Playing 10 seasons with the Sixers, “The Answer” was a 7 time All-Star, won four scoring titles and two All-Star Game MVPs.
Now, the big question is can Iverson help Philly enough to get them in the playoffs? In the east, the answer is yes. Now you have a line up that looks like this… Iverson (career average of 27ppg), Andre Iguodala, Thaddeus Young, Elton Brand, and Samuel Dalembert. That is a pretty decent lineup for the east. Not saying they can winning the Eastern Conference, but being that they are 5-13 and only 2.5 games out of the playoffs, I would say they can at least being looking at some games in June.
