Good God Gilbert…

p1.arenasGilbert Arenas was one of the most entertaining and beloved players in the NBA a couple years ago.  Arenas aka Agent Zero aka Hibachi, because of his sharp shooting style and ability to become “on fire” at any time and basically just take over a game, was always looked at as a good scorer but came to the forefront in the 06-07 season when he went on a tear through the league putting up points at will and making game winning shot after game winning shot.  He threw million dollar birthday parties wile putting up 25 40+ point games in his 6 (really like 4) seasons with the Wizards.

Then it pretty much started falling apart.

A knee injury at the end of the 06-07 season and then being sidelined most of the 07-08 season caused Arenas to start to lose it.  Most recently, and what might be ultimately the end of his career, Arenas has pubilcly said that he has kept at least 3 guns in the Wizards locker room.  He claims to do this because he doesn’t want to keep guns at home.  Seems smart to not keep guns at home, but then again, why are you keeping them at the Verizon Center?  What do you need guns for Gilbert?  Then when things couldn’t get any worse, Arenas apparently pulled his gun when fighting with his teammate Javaris Crittenton about some gambling debts he owed.  Now two issues.  First, why were the guns still in the lcoker room after the reports came out a couple days earlier and two apparently multiple people in this particular locker room either have or are storing guns there.

Now Arenas is being looked into by a grand jury and the NBA.  One would assume he will at least be facing some sort of suspension and depending on how it all plays out with his legal ability have/carry his guns he could be looking at some sort of jail time as well.
