barry-bonds-in-dragRead a dictionary.  The word retires means “to withdraw from one’s occupation, business, or office; stop working”  That means you were currently working, and decided you no longer wanted to work.  It is a decision that you make, not one that’s made for you.  Thanks for announcing that you are now retired.  I would like to announce my retirement from baseball as well.  Much like you, no team in their right mind would ever sign me.  But that’s not going to stop me from making my retirement official.  Look at that…we will both be eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2015!  See you in Cooperstown (in the crowd with the rest of the fans).
